The University of International Business and Economics （UIBE）was founded in 1951. UIBE is a national key university under the leadership of the Ministry of Education, and is also a part of “Project 211”, a governmental program aimed at turning about 100 Chinese universities into exceptionally high quality academic institutions in the 21st century. Now UIBE is one of the most important institutes for talents’ training and scientific research on Chinese economic and business development. UIBE pursues to be an outstanding national university and a prestigious international university with its distinct characteristics. After over 60-year development, UIBE has already become a multi-disciplinary university specialized in the fields of economics, management, liberal arts and law, and competitive in the subjects such as international trade, law （international law）, finance, business management and foreign languages （business languages）. At present, UIBE offers more than 50 majors to overseas students for bachelor, master and doctoral study. Among them, some majors in economics and management can be entirely offered in English. UIBE has a total enrollment of nearly 16,000 fulltime schooling students including more than 3,100 international students from over 120 countries. China Scholarship Council and Beijing municipal government offer a variety of scholarships for international students visiting China, providing tuition, textbooks fee, living expenses, insurance and accommodation, etc. In addition, the University of International Business and Economics also offers UIBE scholarships, which are awarded every semester to international students enrolled at UIBE who are excellent in academic studying, or with significant progress in studying, or being active in social/public affairs.
