Founded in 1956, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) is one of the earliest established higher education institutions for Chinese medicine in the People’s Republic of China. It is the exclusive traditional Chinese medical institution that entered the “211 Project” for national development. BUCM inherits and advances the traditional Chinese medicine as its mission. The University consists of 11 schools and 3 affiliated hospitals. It offers 10 undergraduate programs, including Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Tuina, etc., 44 postgraduate programs and 41 doctoral programs. By now there are a total of 29115 students in the campus. Within this total, 9279 are full-time students, 34.2% of whom are Master’s and PhD candidates and 13.3% of whom are international students. At present, there are 1234 international students from 48 countries, including 1003 degree students.
