Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) was founded in 1896. It’s one of the oldest universities in China. Its three campuses presently are situated in Chengdu, the provincial capital of Sichuan province and E’mei Mountain, the city with UNESCO World Cultural & Natural Heritage. With over one hundred years of development, Today’s SWJTU has developed into a multi-disciplinary national key university with a focus on engineering and a distinct in railway transportation. SWJTU owns a complete Bachelor-Master-Doctor cultivation system with 76 key undergraduate majors, more than 200 master majors, and around 100 doctorate programs. SWJTU has 2500 faculties, among whom 4 are CAS academicians, 7 are CAE academicians, and 1200 are professors and associate professors。 In October 2011, there were 30,671 undergraduates, 11,861 postgraduates and doctoral candidates. There were also on campus approximately 1,000 long-term international students from 70 countries.
