Qingdao University is situated in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, China. Founded in 1924, what was originally a private college has now blossomed into a well-established university. The university offers a wide range of disciplines and is accredited to grant students bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees. With 22 colleges, Qingdao University offers 94 different undergraduate programs. The graduate school is composed of 35 doctoral programs and 178 master’s programs. Currently, more than 40,000 students are enrolled at QU. More than 1,000 international students from over 40 different countries now study at QU each year. Qingdao University is an authorized HSK Testing Center (the primary Chinese proficiency test) and proctors HSK tests at different levels including HSK Basic, HSK Elementary-Intermediate, and HSK Advanced. The Overseas Chinese Bureau of the State Council has designated Qingdao University as an “Education Center of Chinese Language and Culture”.
