One of the national key universities under “Project 211”, Nanjing Normal University, traced back to “Sanjiang Normal Institute” established in 1902, claims “Suiyuan campus”, which is renowned as “The Most Beautiful Campus in the East”, “Xianlin campus” and “Zijin campus” with an area of more than 200 hectares. NNU has 25 schools and offers 80 undergraduate programs, 199 graduate programs and 130 doctoral programs in humanities, social sciences, science, engineering, and art. There are 25,000 full-time students now. NNU, National Base for Teaching Chinese for Foreigners, is one of the earliest universities to open up to the world in China. International students have made their way to NNU since 1965. The university accepted 1600 international students from 123 counties in 2011. NNU has set up 3 Confucius Colleges overseas and has established cooperative relationships with 145 universities in 28 countries and regions.
