Founded in 1952, Inner Mongolia Normal University is one of the earliest universities established in the frontier minority ethnic area by the CPC and its government. As a key university established in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia Normal University is an important base to raise teachers for primary education, minority ethnic education, and to train comprehensive talents who speak both Mongolian and Chinese. It also serves as a training center for secondary school teachers, a continuing education center for primary and secondary school teachers, and a research center for the development and reform of basic education and minority ethnic education. IMNU thus earned the honor of being regarded as “the cradle of minority ethnics’ education”. Our university has a strong teaching group, has many advanced equipment, teaching conditions are abundant. Inner Mongolia Normal University has 36 subordinate colleges and 1 independent college, and 3 teaching-research section. The university offers 77 undergraduate programs covering 10 discipline categories. The university offers 2 doctoral and 24 Master’s degree programs in first-level disciplines, 4 doctoral and 131 Master’s degree programs in second-level disciplines, 1 rotating post-doctoral post ,and 10 professional Master’s degree programs. Inner Mongolia Normal University start receiving foreign students’ education in the 1980s, developed for decades, we have accepted more than 2,000 international students from more than 10 countries. We have improved our oversea education program from language study only into both training program and degree-directing programs. At present there are over 300 foreign students studying in International Exchange College of Inner Mongolia Normal University. Simultaneously adhering to opening-up policy and enhancing international exchanges, IMNU has established solid cooperation and exchange relations with some renowned domestic and international universities and research institutes ,include Republic of Mongolia, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, U.S.A., U.K., Germany, France, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia.
