Founded in 1951, Chongqing University of Science and Technology is a full-time public university of general education, mainly focused on engineering fields featuring petroleum, chemistry, metallurgy, material science, mechanics, electronics, safety and environmental protection. The breadth of its academic endeavor includes sciences, engineering, economics, management, laws, humanities and arts. It has produced more than 100,000 alumni. The university covers a total area of approximately 140 hectares, with teaching facilities worth 240 million yuan. Its library possesses a collection of more than one million books and a wide range of digital resources.
