China University of Petroleum (East China) is a national key university directly affiliated to the Ministry of Education and a member of the “211 Project” and “985 innovation platform for preponderant discipline” universities. Founded in 1953, China University of Petroleum (East China) is the first institution for higher education of petroleum in China. The University has 12 colleges and departments, and offers 60 undergraduate programs, 150 graduate programs, and 45 doctoral programs. Petroleum major disciplines are in the domestic lead. In October 2014, there are approximately 20,000 undergraduates, over 5,000 postgraduates and doctoral candidates. There are also on campus 987 long-term international students from 77 countries. Among them, there are 910 Degree-Seeking students.
