Founded in 1956, the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is one of the 4 earliest established TCM universities in China, which is the Sichuan provincial key university and co-constructed by the provincial government and the State Administration of TCM, and evaluated an excellent grade in the National Evaluation of Undergraduate Education..The University is located in the Chengdu City of Sichuan, a place with hometown of pandas. The staff is over 2,000, including 600 professors and associate professors, among which 300 are tutors of master and doctoral students. There are over 20,000 students. The University provides 31 majors for undergraduates, 49 subjects for master degree and 21 for Ph.D conferment. There are 4 national key subjects. There are 57 national/ministerial centers or labs, such as the State Key Lab Culture Base, the State-Level Experimental Teaching Model Center, the State Herbal Pieces Preparation Engineering Research Center, the Education Ministry Key Labs, the Education Ministry Engineering Research Center, and the Finance Ministry’s centrally/locally co-built labs, and so on. Also there are 4 affiliated hospitals and 60 teaching hospitals. The 1st affiliated hospital is the State TCM Clinical Research Base of Diabetes.
