Capital Medical University （CMU） was founded in 1960. It ranks among the top academic medical institutes in China. It is one of the key municipal universities in Beijing. CMU consists of 10 Schools, 19 affiliated hospitals, 16,555 beds in total, and 1 teaching institute. The university and the affiliated hospitals have about 35,128 staff members. Among them, there are 1,875 professors and 3,275 associate professors including 6 members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences or the Chinese Academy of Engineering. In March 2014, the university has 10,132 enrolled students including 433 international Degree-Seeking students from over 50 countries. Each year, about 100 short term international students are recruited.
